The Start of Fantasy February

Yeah, today is the first day of my Fantasy February read and I’m sure you’re all wondering what book I’m going to kick off my fantastical journey with. It was a toss up between two books for, oh, about five minutes and then I shook my head and new exactly which book was up first. Well, of course it has to be, THE KINGDOM OF COPPER! I’ve been wanting to read this one from the minute I finished reading The City Of Brass … like every other fan on the planet. And now? I can spend the next 3 days sucking up every last damn word and finally find out what’s been happening with Nahri, Ali, and Dara. Chakraborty left us on a cliffhanger of an ending in book one and, given this is a trilogy, I’m expecting another at the end of this one too. Two more fantasy books for Fantasy February, a couple for Mystery March, and one for All-sorts April. What do you think? Quite the nice haul, I would say.

I chose to read fantasy for February, especially as I want to read Katherine Arden’s THE BEAR AND THE NIGHTINGALE. I mean, what could be more perfect than reading fantasy during the dark, cold depths of winter? I’m having a long hard think about what books to choose, and don’t want to commit myself to a certain number, but do want to make a list of potential reads, you know, because. Who doesn’t love making lists, right? So I’m thinking of reading: THE BEAR AND THE NIGHTINGALE — Katherine Arden SCYTHE — Neal Shusterman THE KINGDOM OF COPPER — S.A. Chakraborty THE BLACK KHAN — Ausma Zehanat Khan EMPIRE OF SAND — Tasha Suri What do you think, will five keep me out of mischief for the whole of February, or should I add a couple more titles? I’m thinking maybe I need another five books. …
