Top 5 Books I NEED to read in 2020

Top 5 Tuesday is back and Shanah over at the Bionic Book Worm is asking us to list our Top 5 books we need to read, this year. Pretty much a hot fav topic, I think, for any book blogger and lover of the written word. So here are my choices:

  • EMPIRE OF GOLD by S.A. Chakraborty — the most anticipated book of the year for anyone who’s been reading her Daevabad series.
  • GOLDILOCKS by Laura Lam — An epic SF adventure where a crew of female astronauts—for a change—save not only Earth, but our little corner of the universe.
  • SILENCE OF THE BONES by June Hur — A huge sprawling historical (fantasy?) set in Korea a couple of hundred years ago, that I am so looking forward to reading.
  • HOW TO BEE by Bren MacDibble — In a world where real bees are extinct, the quickest, bravest kids climb the fruit trees and pollinate the flowers by hand. Written by a friend, of course I want to read this one!
  • DARKNESS FOR LIGHT by Emma Viskic — This is the third book in the Caleb Zelic series about a deaf PI who always seems to find trouble while trying to help others.

And what are your choices of must read books this year?

I hope you give it a try, the series is so different to the usual crime fiction and that different perspective really draws you into the stories, Jonetta.

  1. Welllllll if you have a look at my post you might see that I’ve been pressured by someone to read The City of Brass and that bossy someone has now on pins and needles for The Empire of Gold! LOL

Ha! Ha! My bad, Sophie. Sorry to make join the club seeing how you do the same for me, dear friend! 😉 Will check out your choices, next.

  2. What, no new Louise Penny or Steph Broadribb on your list? I already made a list with 10 of my most anticipated books but if I have to choose one it’ll be John Marrs. I know I’ll be surprised and every one of his books is a 5 star read for me 🙂

    • Ha! Ha! Very observant of you, Inge. But no, they’re coming out later this year, so I chose to pick titles that are coming up next, otherwise I’d have a list a mile long. 😀

And will be checking out your list and John Marrs.

  3. I’m planning to catch up on series i already started, and also once that’s done – start some new series before they have 20 books out and become impossible to follow 😀 The series by Emma Viskic is one of the prospects.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I keep trying to get ahead of my TBR pile on the coffee table but then, go buy more books.

Oh, I do hope you try Emma’s series, it’s been really different, in the best possible way. I really love the different view of the world we get to see through Caleb’s eyes, as it were.
