Bonjour tout la monde: welcome to WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words in which we are asked three simple questions:
- What are you currently Reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
So, what have I been up to this last week? Well, let’s see …
What I’m currently reading:
I started reading GONE TO DARKNESS, book 4 in the Sydney Parnell series by Barbara Nickless as I couldn’t wait. I just had to dive straight in given I had been waiting on this one being delivered for over a week. And I haven’t been disappointed. Picking up a few months after events in book 3, AMBUSH, which was set partly in Mexico, Sydney is now with the Denver Major Crimes Division, having left the CPC. Swapping the railways for being a detective, something she’s really good at. And now, hunting down another killer while she’s being stalked by an unknown assailant. It’s so creepy. Anyway, I’m half way through and loving it!
What I recently finished:
I raced through NO SECOND CHANCE by Harlan Coben, last week, mostly because I was speed reading the boring bits where the MC, Dr. Marc Seidman, reminisced for paragraphs at a time on, well, nothing. Filler that did nothing to advance the character or the story. And while, yes, it was a quick, fast-paced read, it was also one long running cliché. I would have expected more from such a well known author such as this. You can check out my review for more about what I thought, and why.
What I will be reading next:
I would like to read THE SURVIVORS the new novel by Jane Harper next but, sadly, it still hasn’t arrived. So I’m probably going to have to choose between A MERCIFUL PROMISE by Kendra Elliot, DEEP DIRTY TRUTH by Steph Broadribb, and IN PLAIN SIGHT by Marion Todd. Three books, for some strange reason, I keep putting off reading in favour of other books. But all in all, I’ll probably go with Deep Dirty Truth, book 3 in the Lori Anderson series, given how I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 books.
And you, what are you currently reading, and what will you be reading next, anything interesting? Let me know, leave a comment.
