Bonjour tout la monde: welcome to WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words in which we are asked three simple questions:
- What are you currently Reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
So, what have I been up to this last week? Well, let’s see …
What am I currently reading?
I started THE LOST APOTHECARY by Sarah Penner last night and … I couldn’t put it down. Literally. My partner had to drag me off the couch at 140+ pages around 11pm, to go to bed. And I was sorely tempted to get back up after they’d gone to sleep to go finish this one. Yes, it’s that good. I’m totally hooked on the twin timelines, the 3 POVs and unfolding stories. You have got to read this one!
What have I just finish reading?
My latest was THE SCENT OF DEATH by Andrew Taylor, a historical set during the American Revolutionary War, and if you want to know more about what I thought, check out my review.
What will I be reading next?
Ah, this one is easy given I received two books in yesterday’s book mail. The Lost Apothecary, which I started last night as stated above, and THE PARIS LIBRARY by Janet Skeslien Charles. Another new author to my reading list, but I couldn’t resist this historical account based on a true story, the premise sounds like it too is going to blow me away. I really hope so.
So yes, that’s back to back historical fiction reading, but sometimes you just have to. Some of the best murder-mysteries also have historical settings. And so far, The Lost Apothecary, is not disappointing. And you, what have you lined up to read next, anything exciting?
