On the Waterfront

I thought to share another batch of photos taken the other day when we were checking out the new public area in old Quebec, by the docks were the cruises ships come in. And yes, that is a ‘pop-up’ bar. If the kids can have blow-up castles, then the adults can have blow-up bars, right? It’s open in the evenings to serve, well, yes, beer.

They really opened it up so that arriving ships have an uninterrupted view of Vieux (Old) Quebec, the historic area and, of course, a great view of the Chateau Frontenac up on the promenade, Terrace Duffrin.

Disembarking passengers will also be greeted by the imposing front of the Museum of Civilisation—Musée de la civilisation à Québec—on rue Delhousie. And yes, they dress up the lighthouse every so often. This time around it was London’s famous Big Ben!

I hope you enjoyed the sights.

    • It really is quite a beautiful city, Sophie. The classic old world charm of an old European city, on a small scale.
