Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Characters

Bonjour tout la monde, today’s Top Ten Tuesday from Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl is Bookish Characters. And, my mind went blank. Reading mostly crime fiction you don’t come across that many bookish-type characters. Same with science fiction and fantasy. Though, I suspect, there are more bookish characters in fantasy than the other two genres. Regardless, I’m wracking my brains this morning, but here goes …

  • Odile Souchet — from The Paris Library.
  • Meggie Folchart — from Inkheart.
  • Rory Gilmore — from Gilmore Girls (does she count?)
  • Jess Mariano — from Gilmore Girls (does he count?)
  • Hermione Granger — from Harry Potter.
  • Jo March — from Little Women.
  • Anne Shirley — from Anne of Green Gables.
  • Guy Montag — from Fahrenheit 451.
  • Elizabeth Bennet — from Pride and Prejudice.
  • Dr. John Watson — from Sherlock Holmes (does he count?)

I’m sure I know others but, as of writing this post I cannot think of anyone. Dang, this one was hard today. I may have cheated by including characters from the Gilmore Girls TV show, so sue me.

And you, who did you put on your list today?

    1. I think she’s probably one of the first characters that will come to mind for us all. And so glad to see everyone voting yes for Rory and Jess on my list. It seems we all watched and loved the Gilmore Girls.
