Top Ten Tuesday: Books with …

Bonjour tout la monde, today’s Top Ten Tuesday from Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl is Books With (____) On the Cover (Pick a thing (a color, an item, a place, an animal, a scripty font, a sexy person, etc.) and share covers that have that thing on the cover.)

Because I read a lot of murder-mysteries and thrillers, I chose to select 10 books with the word BONE(S) in the title. You know, just to do something different. Though, funnily enough, I came up with just as many historical books read as murder-mysteries, with the word bone in. With, of course, Kathy Reichs taking first prize for loving the word BONE in her titles.

  1. BONE CANYON by Lee Goldberg (Crime)
  2. CROSS BONES by Kathy Reichs (Crime)
  3. THE SILENCE OF BONES June Hur (Historical)
  4. SAWBONES by Melissa Lenhardt (Western)
  5. ALTER OF BONES by Philip Carter (Thriller)
  6. MAP OF BONES by James Rollins (Thriller)
  7. THE BONES OF AVALON by Phil Rickman (Historical)
  8. THE BONE CODE by Kathy Reichs (Crime)
  9. SPIDER BONES by Kathy Reichs (Crime)
  10. BARE BONES by Kathy Reichs (Crime)

I nearly did the word DEAD as that too is popular (as you can imagine) in crime fiction. Maybe next time. And you, what theme or topic did you go with today, for TTT?

    1. It was only because I was staring at my bookshelves for so long that I came up with this one, as I saw so many. I never noticed before. Oh, and yes, that’s another. 😀

    1. Yeah, it’s something you expect to see, but are still surprised when you see just how much it’s used. ANd, actually, no. Some of Kathy Reichs books also have no-bone titles like Grave Secrets. Ha! Ha!

    1. Thanks for stopping by to comment, Deanna. And I agree, it’s one of those eye-catching words that sort of tells you all you need to know. 😉
