Wardrobe Malfunction

I’ve had my black classic Blundstone boots for some time now, probably well over a decade and in that time they’ve worn well. In fact, I would go as far as to say that the leather has only now just begun to feel supple and comfortable. I love these boots, which fit like a glove and have always been a joy to walk in.

But …

When out yesterday you could say I had one of the worst wardrobe malfunctions ever. My wonderful, trusty ‘blunnies’ literally disintergrated on me. Well, not the leather you understand, but the sole. One of the most important parts of these boots just, well, totally fell apart like they were made of crumbly cheese.

I’ve never seen (or heard) anything like this before.

I mean really? I thought these boots were indestructible. But, it seems, something ate into my sole and caused it to crumble. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

Of course I’ll be writing to Blundstone and sending photos to ask if this is normal. I mean, come on, these boots cost over $300 here in Canada.

I wonder if you can resole them?
