Some of the tall ships that were at the US 250th Birthday Bash down in New York City for July 4th have finally made their way up the coast to arrive here, in Quebec City late Wednesday evening. Sadly for us we were unable to get out yesterday to go see them due to the crazy weather we’ve had these last few days. It’s was raining on and off all day yesterday, never mind blowing a gale.

Today, however, has dawned fairly calm in comparison resplendent with clear blue skies and mild balmy temperatures.

So, like tourists, we’ll arrive quay side around noon today to queue up with however many other people turn up, to get a free tour of one more more of the ships in dock. We’re told there will be 9 in total including ships from Italy, France, Chile, Colombia, Peru, the US and, of course, Canada.

I’m really looking forward to seeing which ships are in dock. We’ve been lucky enough to see a variety of the tall ships come here over the years. One of my favs is the Italian training ship, the Amerigo Vespucci, which has been here a couple of times now.
